Radiothon for Veteran Memorial scheduled for April 10

On April 10th from 7am till 10am the Radiothon is to be conducted to raise funds for hopefully the last memorial stone to have to be installed on the existing site in Malta's Veterans Park. The first stone was Funded and placed by the World War I Barracks and its Auxiliary in 1974. The next four in 2009, were through a community effort and radiothon promoted by the VFW Post and American Legion Post and their Auxiliaries of Malta.

After the United States Government had finally given its wordingto the ongoing hostilities, the members of American Legion Post 57 and it's Auxiliary; The Buster Deo VFW Post 4067 and it's Auxiliary; and the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 57 okayed the ordering of the revised stone so we could get it installed and unveiled on Memorial Day May 25th 2020.

If you can not listen in and donate on the Radiothon, which is hosted by members of the Sons of the American Legion; you can offer your donations by calling Ken Wiederrick at 399-3944, Vincent Schmoeckel at 301-1040, or Charlie Stevens at 654-4722. You can also deposit it into the Phillips County Memoria Fund account at First State Bank.
