One Nation, Under God

Loring News for April 22, 2020

Phillips County has made it through another week without having a positive COVID-19 test result! Congrats to us for staying home, washing our hands and social distancing!

The birds are gradually coming back. I saw mourning doves and redwing blackbirds this week. I'm going to drive to my secret spot to see if the yellow bellwort is out yet. I'll let you know next week if they are!

To break up this coronavirus isolation a few people from Loring did take part in the social Distancing Cruise on Friday in Malta. Tina Russell thought we should try the cruise in Loring so be watching for when we get that organized.

Most of the calves are on the ground now. If we get a few warm days in a row I wouldn't be surprised if branding would startup. Also, the crops will be starting to be seeded. The gulls will be following the tractors to catch any varmint that might accidentally be displaced!

The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum will be hosting a paleo round table starting on Thursday, April 23 at 10 a.m. Five paleontologists will be interviewing each other live and the video will be posted on our website or Facebook page! It'll be a great time to stretch those muscles in your brain! We will be closed until the governor opens up the state again. Safety and health are our main concerns! But when we do open, I'm hoping many of you people in Phillips County come in to see what we have done!

Until next week!
