5-20. Sympathy to Baptist Pastor Bergess, wife Alyssa, and family on the loss of a family member. The Bergess family left Whitewater for South Carolina for the funeral.

Wishing a speedy recovery to Adam Hellie who had an accident recently.

Congratulations to Challis Young, my granddaughter, om her recent wedding. They had a small, private ceremony and party due to the COVID-19 virus quarantines.

Best wishes to the newlyweds.

Children grow up too fast, don’t they?

Sad news in Whitewater as there will not be church at the Lutheran Church until the fall, partly due to COVID-19. The restart date will be announced at a later time.

Whitewater Baptist is not having church until a later date, also.

We appreciate the church services programing on KMMR and to the Phillips County News for publishing the times.

It is May so it is graduation time for our Phillips County students. Schools have been taught online all over the world as well as here in Whitewater. However, schools in South Dakota are open and Mark Legeson is going to a family radution there.

Last week Pastor Orvin Solberg and David Lightfoot where in Whitewater. David ought my car.

Recently, I saw Kent Wasson, Curt Reichelt, and Allie Olson at the North 40 Café. They, as most farmers, say it “is too wet” to plow. Allie said she is about 98-percet through calving…good luck to all ranchers.

I hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day.

I talked to Teresa, my daughter, in Swift Current and she works on in a Swift Current mall. She said they have really strict rules about the virus. She said they all must wear masks and have plexiglass in front of them, like they do at our Malta Albertsons. She also reported that the Swift Current mall is out of toilet paper! (though they have gotten some since she told me that.)

Note: The border between the US and Canada was closed to all traffic and still is.

Here in Whitewater, it is spring, but today was cold and rainy. The trees are just starting to blossom, likely because I has been so cold and rainy.

5.27. Sympathy to all who are affected by the COVID-19 virus; also, to those who are dealing with floods.

Recently, the Siewings gave me rides to and from Whitewater to Malta. The really had every business was closed because of the virus, but now, every business is open. The transit bus is now running as usual which is convenient for me also.

Here in Whitewater, North 40 Café is open, but the Whitewater Schools ended the year closed and will remain so, as far as I know, until the fall term.

The Whitewater Lutheran Church is having regular Sun Service at 11:15 a.m.

Dallas Green has hard hired a hand. His name is Jaden and he is Serena’s son, of Miles City.

Sunday, Jeanie Green took Patty Young and me to Saco to swim and sit in the hot pool. We had a nice drive down by Nelson Reservoir as well. It seems higher than usual to me for only being in May. The prairies are so green, flowers and trees are blossoming — beautiful!

Now, many deer and antelope are grazing. Cattle are on summer pastures everywhere in the area and are enjoying the fresh grass. We live amid a big cattle county, yet there is something strange: In our local grocery store we are only allowed to buy two items of each due to the COVID-19 virus. It also seems like prices have gone up.

News flash: Steve Young trapped a skunk! They are cute and so pretty, black and white.

It was Memorial Day on Monday and many from the Whitewater area spent time at the “Lake (Nelson.) I hope everyone made it home safe and happy.

Be safe and enjoy spring. This really is God’s country.
