One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for June 17, 2020

It is sad about police brutality and riots. Pray for peace everywhere.

Get well to my sister Janet Brown. Also, happy late birthday to Janet and June birthdays and anniversaries.

Sue and Allie Olson celebrated their anniversary recently. I asked Sue “did you get married in grade school?” she laughed and said no, but admitted they were married just out of high school.

Also, happy 49th anniversary to Don and Diane Simonton of Whitewater. They had a nice party at the North 40 and many family and friends attended. Marriages that last 45 or 49 years are rare anymore. Congratulations to them all.

Most Whitewater area farmers are done seeding. Kurt Reichelt helped Sally Austin put her crop it.

Kyle Stenvick and wife visited his family in Whitewater over the weekend.

Jeannie Green went to Havre to see grandchildren play basketball there.

The lawns in Whitewater are really kept neat. Steve Young and the Hellie boys are all great mowers. Many, including Lu Besel, are good gardeners. Many already have their gardens coming up.

Recently, I got a great surprise telephone call from my cousin Ray Austin in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! We had a nice visit and talked much about our family. Ray and family were church missionaries in Africa and other places. They adopted two foster children and when they grew up, Ray was in Whitewater, quite a bit anyway, so it was good to hear from him.

Telephones are such wonderful inventions! The Triangle telephone company is in Whitewater now making improvements and updating the phone lines in the area.

It's a beautiful day here, enjoy it.

Helen A.
