Corn Hole part 2

Though he is 13-years-old and not old enough to compete with adults in the Malta Parks and Recreation Corn Hole Season, Kohner "Chaka" Schipman is an avid player of the backyard game.

Chaka is the official scorekeeper of the Corn Hole League.

"It's pretty cool," Schipman said about the league.

Though he doesn't play in the league, which is for players aged 16 and older, Chaka plays the game at his home with his father Jessie, mother Leslie, and his siblings Kolter, Kylie, and Keenan once a week. He said that his dad and his brother Kolter are the best throwers in the house.

He was asked who he would want on his team during family games

"I would probably like to have my dad on my team yet," Kolter said.

Jessie was asked if he could confirm everything Chaka had said.

"If you want to see a thrower, you had better come around when I'm throwing," Jessie said.

Though throwers seemed to struggle in the first week of games, games went faster in week two, with teams scoring points nearly every round. Chaka was asked if he had seen very many competitive games in his opinion.

"Yes, there have been some pretty intense ones and they have been tight," Chaka said. "Since they have been practicing, they are getting better every time they throw."

He was then asked how he thought he would do. He said that he would destroy his opponents. This was later confirmed as Chaka went head to head with Jay Rhodes, and hit the box or landed in the hole with close to every throw.

His mother Leslie and her teammate Lenny Cebulski picked up a win in the last match of the night.

"We rocked it," Leslie said.

Last week, MSYH, the team tied for first place with Colossal Cob, was led by Lance Henderson, who said his back was tired from carrying his teammate Dylan Bergos on his back. This week, Bergos said that he carried Henderson on his back. Henderson shook his head in disgust.

Jessica Zieger, Assistant Director of Malta Parks and Recreation shared how she thought the league was going.

"It's been a lot of fun," Zieger said. "It's a really laid back activity and we just really enjoy the crowd that we had.
