One Nation, Under God

Loring New for July 29, 2020

The Loring community was hopping this past weekend! Most everyone was involved in one of three weddings! Levi Harms and Casandra Stenvik were married at the Johannesen ranch north of Loring with a reception at the Loring Hall. Tiffany Salveson got married at the Scandia Church south on Malta, so the Lumsdens and Blunt families were down there. And Kiana Simonson’s wedding in Huntley was attended by all the aunts and uncles and many friends! Congratulations to the three couples!

On Sunday we celebrated Sunday Funday in Loring, Montana! The guys designed a huge slip and slide on the hill west of Main. It was a big hit with the young kids and as the day got hotter the older kids went down also! A delicious pulled pork lunch and dinner were served up by the community! Two cool water sprinklers in the blowup rainbow and unicorn were also a hit with some of the kids of all ages!

Cindy Clark came over to my home to help me figure out which paintings I should enter in the fair.

Jonnae and Jim Slade and children were here for the Salveson wedding and came out to the Sunday activities. Nana and Papa Lumsden will be watching the children this week! Also, Dean and Carol Kienenberger of Dodson came up to the Funday.

I enjoyed the senior lunch at the North 40 on Wednesday! It's nice to visit with people who I normally do not see!

I spotted a beautiful bird this week! A tanager with a bright yellow body, black wings, and an orange redhead was flitting among the cottonwood branches! So pretty! And that reminds me, the flycatchers are still feeding their four young but that nest is getting full to overflowing! I'm sure they will fledge soon! It's been fun watching them!

Until next week, tell your loved ones how you feel!
