One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for August 12, 2020

We had about a week of very hot weather but it has cooled down some but we have not had rain. The nights are getting quite cold and feeling like fall.

Grasshoppers are a problem in part of the county, hard on some of the crops and hay that has been cut. So far our yards have not suffered heavily.

Sympathy is extended to all those who have been stricken with the COVID 19 virus. We hope more people keep recovering from it and it does not spread heavily in Phillips County or anywhere else in Montana too.

Sid and Merrimae Solberg were in Dodson seeing to business and stopped to visit Polly Solberg on Saturday.

Velyma Broadhead's daughter Anita came on the AmTrac to visit and help her mom for a few days. They went to Joliet to hold a memorial for a family member, have a family gathering, and take care of his ashes.

Dora Henry's grandson Aaron Leys, of Choteau, was fortunate he was not more seriously injured when a piece of a header came loose and started a fire causing the loss of the header, combine and most of a wheat field he had just started to cut. The Hutterites in a nearby field, the Chouteau fire department, and all his neighbors came to help and got the fire put out. It is good that we have good and caring neighbors and God is looking out for us too. Aaron suffered a badly burned forearm and inhalation when he tried to save the combine by unhooking the header.

Polly Solberg and Dora Henry were in Havre on Wednesday where they finished un-plugging Dora's ears. Good to hear better again.

Birthday greetings to Tammy Voice and Robert Olson and all others having a birthday this week. Also congratulations to all having an anniversary. Sympathy to all who have lost loved ones.

An alarm clock is a small device used to wake people who have no children.

Have a good week and pray that we can soon have school and more social interaction soon.
