Dodson News for August 26, 2020

The weather has been very hot all week with quite chilly nights. Everything is getting very dry---the gardens need watering more often again. They are getting harvested slowly tho so will not need it much longer.

There has been one case of COVID 19 tested positive in Dodson now.

Dolores Shettel stopped at Dora Henry's to visit for a short time this week.

The school had the two wooden storage sheds next to the track torn down and hauled away this week. Looks sort of bare there now.

Time is coming down to the end pretty fast and they have not decided yet if they will hold classes or not. With the few students anymore it should not be too hard to establish distance.

Phillips County held out for a long time with no positive or active cases of COVID 19, one of the few counties in Montana to have none, but the last count was over 100 now.

The fires in California, Wyoming, and a couple of big ones in southern Montana have caused Billings and some of the other southern cities to have a heavy smoke problem. So far it is not too noticeable up here on the Hi-line.

We send good wishes for recovery to all who are sick with this terrible virus that is so prevalent all over and hope some sort of cure is found soon.

We send greetings and congratulations to Wink Cole, Jim Shettel, Patti Dolphy, and everyone else having a birthday this week.

The difference between capitalistic and socialistic economic systems: the capitalistic system has social shortcomings, the socialistic system has capital shortcomings.

Enjoy the heat---remember winter will be here only too soon and if we can believe the old beliefs of predictions the heavy corn husks are saying cold and long!
