One Nation, Under God

Loring News for August 26, 2020

Wishing all the school kids a successful year along with the teachers, cooks, and all the support staff! Malta starts this week and most of Whitewater started last week.

A huge wind blew through Loring and northern Phillips County on Thursday! I have never seen the pine trees bend so far and the noise was scary! Lightning was prevalent but I have not heard of any fires starting here. There was one north of Whitewater but it was before the wind and the neighbors got it out quickly!

When out driving, combines, trucks, and balers can be seen in fields in every direction! Good luck to all the farmers for a successful harvest!

Loring Lutheran Church will meet on the 30th for regular services. We were closed for two weeks due to the spike in Coronavirus!

A few American goldfinches stopped by my sunflowers to grab a nutritional treat. It is fun to see them and hear their little voices as they talk over the world's problems!

The first quarter moon is on Tuesday when it will be straight up at sunset. As the night wears on, the moon gets more and more orange due to the smoky skies from the fires around the country. They don't even need to be close to affect our clear blue skies!

Hope y'all have a great week and love one another!
