Malta Boys & Girls Club open for school year Aug. 26

Malta Boys & Girls Club’s afterschool program is excited to be open the first day of school, Wednesday, August 26th! The program is free of charge. Weekday hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, afterschool until 5:30 pm. There will be NO bus service from the elementary to the Club after school at this time. We are working on other possible transportation options. With COVID-19 restrictions in place, children MUST wear a mask, be a minimum of 5 years old, AND registered for Kindergarten this fall. Membership Forms may be picked up from Malta Elementary and the front steps at the Boys & Girls Club during regular business hours. We would prefer that only staff and students enter the building during Club hours. A face covering or mask is mandatory upon entry of the Boys & Girls Club building. Forms may also be filled out online which can be found on the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line Malta Extension Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/maltabgc. After consultation with the Phillips County Health Department, and in keeping with guidelines released by the Governor’s COVID-19 task force, staff and members will be required to wear masks during the recent mandate and kept in groups of 10-15 students. We will continue to provide a free daily afternoon snack for Club members. Some of the COVID-19 related procedures and guidelines we will be following during the school year program so far are as follows:

Check-in

• Membership forms MUST be completed, including a signed COVID-19 waiver release form.

• Staff will be outside at the beginning and end of Club to monitor the members for drop-off and pick-up.

• Club members may check-out at the front desk to leave at any time during the day but will not be allowed back into the facility until the next day.

• Parents and other non-staff are discouraged from entering the building during Club hours but may enter through the front doors provided they are wearing a mask or face covering.

Sick Members

• Members who show signs of illness should not be brought to the Club

• If a member is found to be unwell they will be escorted to an isolation area and a parent/guardian will be contacted for immediate pick-up.

• If a child attends the Club and is diagnosed with COVID-19 the facility will be cleaned according to CDC guidelines. The child will not be allowed to return to Club unless they have a signed release from a medical doctor.

• Any sick members will be allowed back to the Club when the no longer show any symptoms or signs of sickness for 24 hours.

End of Day

• Club members will stay with their groups until they are picked up between 5:00-5:30 pm, unless they are walking home. If a member is allowed to walk home, they must check out at the front desk and leave the premises directly.

• Parents are required to call the Club upon arrival to pick up their student.

All forms MUST be completed and signed before members can attend the program. If you have any questions please call the Club at 406-654-2378. Malta Boys & Girls Club is located at 101 South 7th Street West.
