One Nation, Under God

People need entertainment

It has been a weird year for everyone.

I typically roll with the punches, so wearing a mask doesn’t affect me. I just try to be fun with it and hope that it keeps someone safe. Whatever. Not a big deal to me. The mass hysteria of COVID-19 makes me uneasy because I don’t even want to catch a simple cold, let alone something that could be worse, but again, I roll with the flow.

The racial tension is unnerving to me, but I have lived life knowing that there are possibly people that at the worst don’t like my skin color or don’t understand the full gravity of the situation. I roll with the flow, leaning on people that accept me for who I am.

One of the things that has me the most anxious is that movies and television shows are not being produced as normal. We just got Netflix and other streaming platforms because this spring we were laying low due to COVID.

We binge watch shows when and if we can and we have been through several series. It left the question… With everything going on, “when is the next season or ____ coming out?”

This year, I believe we were supposed to get a new Batman movie and several other flicks that I was really looking forward to. But instead, now I see previews of movies scheduled to come out in 2021!?!?!

I appreciate that basketball and baseball were able to start. I know people don’t think that athletes and actors and actresses aren’t necessary but I want to be entertained! I would’ve done stir crazy during the state’s shutdown had it not been for some of the great shows and movies I was able to watch.

That being said, I hope that scientists can come up with a vaccine so we can live a happy and safe life. And hopefully in 2021, we can experience great movies and cinema again.
