One Nation, Under God

Loring News for September 23, 2020

After a week of smoky skies from the fires in the west, we had a bit of rain on Saturday night and the skies are much better now. Almost a blue sky, but the horizon still has a smoky look. But so thankful for the moisture!

I drove to Billings on Thursday and I'm surprised we have as many deer left alive as we do! The number of blood splats on the highway was amazing! But I still saw a lot of grazing on the side of the road. If all the dead deer are hit by personal vehicles, the autobody people must be very busy!

Gale Simonson hosted Loring Woman’s Club on Wednesday. It was decided not to have a fall dance this year. I think we've had a fall dance every year since the 1940s! We also won't be having a raffle this year.

On a personal note, I was in Billings to have a heart cath. I found out that I had no blockage so no stents are needed! So that was a relief! Thank you all for your concern! Also thanks to Cary Woodruff and The Maxwell family for taking such good care of my dog Buster!

I'm happy that my sunflowers are still providing nutrition for the goldfinches! I'm expecting the finches to head south pretty soon and I'll be waiting until next spring to see them again!

I enjoyed the senior lunch at the North 40 on Wednesday, stopping at the Whitewater School to visit Lynn Hill.

Hope you all have a great fall. The autumnal equinox is the 22, so it is officially fall! Be kind.
