DISPOSITION OF OBSOLETE AND UNDESIRABLE PROPERTY

Notice is hereby given as required by Section 20-6-604, MCA, the Board of Trustees of Malta School District 14A adopted a resolution at a special trustee meeting on August 27, 2020 to dispose of abandoned, obsolete, unsuitable and undesirable property of minimal value, specifically a 2000 Thomas Activity Bus. The sale will be held by sealed bid with a minimum bid of $2,000. Bids must be received no later than 5:00 PM on September 23, 2020. Bids should be turned in to the Malta Public Schools Central Office. Bids will be opened at a special meeting of the Board of Trustees to be held on September 24, 2020 at 12:00 PM in the board room of the Malta Middle/High School located at 1 High School Lane, South 9th Street West. Sale must be completed by September 28, 2020.

For more information you may phone the school office at 654-1871. Any taxpayer of the district may appeal this resolution to district court anytime prior to the effective date of this resolution. If you are interested in purchasing this item, please do so by sealed bid no later than 5:00 PM on September 23, 2020. The effective day of the resolution will be September 23, 2020.

PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Malta will conduct a public hearing October 13, 2020 at 5:10pm in the City Hall Gymnasium. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments concerning Ordinance 454 – An Ordinance Amending Ordinance 453, Chapter 6.23.020 to allow & regulate female chickens within the City of Malta. The first reading October 13, 2020. The second reading and adoption October 27, 2020. Persons and/or their agent(s) may appear in person or send written comments to Mayor John Demarais, PO Box 1300, Malta, MT 59538 no later than 12 noon October 13, 2020.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the requirements of Section 2-2-302, MCA, the Board of Trustees of Dodson School District 2A-C intends to consider hiring Clayton Kill Eagle as Head Girls Basketball Coach and Wendy Hopkins as the Elementary Girls Jamboree Basketball Coach and for the school year 20-21 at its regular board meeting October 13, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the school library. Clayton is the son of board trustee Iris Kill Eagle and first cousin of trustee Jessica Fetter. Wendy is the sister of Trustee Iris Kill Eagle. Notice of November 3, 2020 General Mail Ballot Election; Notice of Close of Regular Voter Registration and Option for Late Registration

Notice is hereby given that in Phillips County on November 3, 2020, a General Federal Election will be held. The election will be conducted by mail ballot. All active and inactive electors of Phillips County are entitled to vote in the election.

Ballots will be mailed to active electors only beginning on October 9, 2020. If you do not receive a ballot, contact the elections office at 406-654-2423 for instruction on how to register or update your registration to receive a ballot.

No polling places will be open on election day. In-person registration, voting and ballot drop-off is available at the county elections office located in the County Courthouse at 314 S 2nd Ave W, Malta MT.

Regular* registration for the election will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Citizens are encouraged to register before this deadline, vote their mail ballot, and return their voted ballot in person to the election office at 314 S 2nd Ave W or by mail one week prior to election day. Postage is pre-paid on mail ballot return envelopes.

To request the voter registration application, please call the elections office at 406-654-2423. If you have moved, please update your registration information by completing the voter registration application and submitting it to the county election office.

*If you miss the October 26th regular registration deadline, you may still register for the election by appearing in person at the county election office up to and including on Election Day. Between noon and the close of business on the day before Election Day, you can complete and submit a voter registration application, but you will need to return to the election office on Election Day to pick up and vote a ballot.
