BLM plans  burns in Petroleum, Phillips Counties

BLM’s Lewistown Field Office and Malta Field Office are planning the Petroleum County Roads pile burn and Camp Creek pile burn to reduce hazardous fuels by removing hand piles comprised of conifer trees, allowing an overall improvement of forest health.

The 183-acre Petroleum County Roads pile burn consists of juniper and ponderosa pine slash produced from projects implemented in the summer of 2019.
