One Nation, Under God
Forty-eight 4-H members participated in the 4-H Livestock and forty-two members participating in the Miscellaneous Judging on October 18th at the Milk River Pavilion in Malta. The purpose of the event was to provide youth with the opportunity to develop skills in critical thinking, decision making, and the ability to verbalize reasonings to a judge. Youth judged livestock classes of market steers and breeding beef (provided by Tanner and Caitlin Anderson), swine (Marcus and Kendra Green), ewes (Barb Wiebe), goats (Kathy Gianes), and feed rations. The livestock classes were organized by Big Sky Builders 4-H club. Miscellaneous judging classes consisting of cooking, mechanics, veterinary, woodworking, gardening, and sewing. The miscellaneous judging classes were organized by the Cross Country 4-H club. A huge thank you to the livestock judges, Jesse Blunt, Grant Messerly, Willie Harms and the misc. judges, Debbie Hammond and Aimee Salveson. Thank you to the two 4-H clubs for hosting the event, the helpers, and trophy sponsors that made the events possible.
