Phillips County Sheriff's Report for Wednesday, November 4, 2020

Concealed Weapon Permits:

New and renewal applications for Concealed Weapon Permits may be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office anytime. Once approved, you will be contacted to come in on Wednesday between 9 AM and noon for fingerprints and photographs.

FINGERPRINTS can be done at the Sheriff’s Office on WEDNESDAYs only, from 9am-noon, unless other arrangements have been made with the Sheriff’s Office.

October 16, 2020

9:31 p.m. 911 received reporting a domestic situation at a Dodson residence; victim possibly needed medical attention; Deputies, Sheriff and local EMT Crew responded to the call; male left the location before law enforcement could arrive; patient not transported to the PC Hospital; case file started.

10:08 p.m. Ft Belknap LE requested PCSO assistance with a female suspect in a domestic situation that was headed toward Phillips Co; information passed onto Deputies; female not located.

11:06 p.m. Ft Belknap LE located the male suspect from the domestic situation from 9:31 pm and transported him to the Ft Belknap boundary for PCSO to interview him; male was interviewed and then left on foot towards Fort Belknap.

October 17, 2020

12:24 a.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving several other individuals and a possible weapon; Deputies responded to the call; case file started.

1:13 a.m. Parents of a juvenile involved in the above situation reported to PCSO to pick up their child and take back to their residence.

9:17 a.m. Local Ambulances, Malta FD and Deputy reported to a metal scrap yard for a mock bus accident training.

4:03 p.m. Female reported a stolen dog; Deputy responded to the call; dog located and was with a family member; dog later returned to the residence.

4:35 p.m. 911 received reporting the male suspect from the domestic situation in Dodson the night before was back in Dodson; Deputies responded to the call; male located and situation taken care of without further incident.

6:01 p.m. Female reported an abandoned dog in a vehicle near the Dodson Dam; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE; dog owner later located and a family member retrieved the dog from the Dam area.

October 18, 2020

12:33 a.m. Female reported a suspicious person around the High School area; Deputies resounded to the call; no one located in the area.

12:55 a.m. Female reported a male walking on Hwy 2, with a gas can; Deputy responded to the call; male later came to PCSO to borrow a phone to contact a family member.

1:56 a.m. Deputies reported finding a deceased dog on a residential street; Deputies disposed of the remains and the owners were later notified.

5:09 p.m. 911 received reporting an intoxicated male hit another male at the Sleeping Buffalo; Deputy responded to the call; suspect and victim both left the location before law enforcement arrival.

October 19, 2020

1:23 p.m. Male received a request for a welfare check on a female at a local residence; Undersheriff responded to the call; female located and was okay.

October 20, 2020

8:38 a.m. 911 received reporting a semi-truck and trailer slide off on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy and MT Dept of Transportation responded to the call; several more slid offs reported in the same area; roadway later sanded, vehicles pulled out of the ditch and headed on their way again.

10:00 a.m. Male reported a family member being harassed by a local female; male did not live in Phillips Co anymore; Sheriff handled call, case file started.

12:44 p.m. Alarm company reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a local business; business contacted and advised there was no fire at their location.

1:50 p.m. Malta School employee requested PCSO assistance with a situation involving a juvenile; Sheriff responded to the call; case file started.

2:33 p.m. Male and female reported being harassed by another female and received threats from the second female; Sheriff handled the call.

3:03 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female having a seizure; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

October 21, 2020

2:04 a.m. Deputy assisted Ft Belknap LE with transporting a female involved in an accident to her residence in Malta.

5:45 a.m. Female reported a suspicious vehicle driving around her residence and neighborhood; Deputy responded to the call; driver located; information added to case file.

5:56 a.m. Male reported a Hit and Run to his vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

10:21 a.m. Female reported damage to her yard caused by a vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; found to be the same vehicle from the Hit & Run report earlier this morning; information added to existing case file.

7:45 a.m. Local apartment complex manager reported suspicious property placed outside of the laundry building; Deputy responded to the call; owner of property left outside of the building located and returned; situation taken care of without further incident.

October 22, 2020

8:02 a.m. Alarm Monitoring reported a commercial burglar alarm sounding at a local business; all found to be okay, just a code entered wrong.

9:03 a.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a tenant; Deputy responded to the call; caller advised to seek the advice of an attorney as this situation was a civil matter.

12:04 p.m. 911 received reporting a two-vehicle collision on the Harb Road, east of Malta; Deputy, local MHP Trooper, local EMT Crew and FD responded to the location; no patients transported to the PC Hospital.

2:23 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a juvenile and a possible break-in to the residence the juvenile was in; Deputy and local Border Patrol Agents responded to the call; juvenile found to be okay and no break-in.

4:00 p.m. Male reported a theft from a vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

7:15 p.m. Male reported a missing dog.

7:48 p.m. Male reported a vehicle and trailer slide off on Hwy 2, east of Malta; Deputy and local towing company responded to the call; case file started.

October 23, 2020

8:00 a.m. BNSF Police reported a 10-car derailment west of Malta and did not need any PCSO assistance; just called to let us know; information passed onto Deputy.

1:17 a.m. 911 received reporting an injured deer on 9th St W; Deputy responded to the call; was unable to locate that deer but later received a call reporting a dead deer in a residential yard on 9th St W; second deer was not the reported first deer; deceased deer removed and properly disposed of.

3:35 p.m. Female reported a door on a residence left open for two weeks and requested a welfare check; Deputy responded to the call; no one had lived in the residence for quite some time and the door was closed.

7:12 p.m. Male reported a pickup and trailer dragging something causing sparks on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle not located.

8:55 p.m. Deputy performed building security checks in the Dodson area.

10:32 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance at a residence on the reservation; call transferred to Ft Belknap LE.

10:39 p.m. Deputy performed building security checks in the Malta area.

11:17 p.m. Sheriff performed building security checks in the Saco and Sleeping Buffalo areas.

October 24, 2020

2:39 a.m. Sheriff performed building security checks in the Malta area.

9:09 a.m. Male reported vandalism to his vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

12:59 p.m. Female requested assistance for a vehicle that was stuck on Iron Stake Ridge in south Phillips Co; local Fish & Game Warden handled the call.

10:50 p.m. Female reported vandalism to her vehicle; Deputies responded to the call; juveniles located; case file started.

11:25 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a ground transport to Havre; local EMT Crew handled the call.

October 25, 2020

11:02 a.m. Probation Officer requested PCSO assistance with a Probation Violation; Undersheriff handled the call.

2:27 p.m. Male reported vandalism to his vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

3:41 p.m. 911 received requesting medical attention for a passenger on the Amtrak coming into Malta; local EMT Crew responded to the call patient transported to the PC Hospital.

4:01 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance to meet a personal vehicle transport of a patient from Saco; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

7:00 p.m. 911 received reporting a sparking wire west of Dodson; Deputy responded to the call; workers were already on scene repairing it.

7:58 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

October 26, 2020

1:36 a.m. Deputy performed building security checks in the Wagner area.

11:12 a.m. Local EMT Crew reported to the PC Hospital for a ground transport to the Havre hospital.

6:21 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with trespassers and damage to property in the Wagner area; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

8:30 p.m. Blaine Co SO and Ft Belknap LE requested PCSO assistance with locating a Homicide suspect possibly enroute to Phillips Co from Yellowstone Co; Sheriff and Deputy responded to the call; suspect later located at a hotel in Billings.

10:04 p.m. Sheriff performed building security checks in the Landusky area.

10:44 p.m. Deputy performed building security checks in the Zortman area.

October 27, 2020

12:08 a.m. Deputy and Sheriff assisted Ft Belknap LE on a traffic stop in Zortman; one male, Leon Cochran, taken into custody on a Blaine Co SO warrant and an MHP-Havre warrant; male later transported to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on those warrants.

3:59 a.m. Local Ambulance reported to the PCSO Jail for an inmate having a possible heart attack; patient and Deputy transported to the PC Hospital; inmate later transported back to PCSO Jail.

10:21 a.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a Covid-19 positive patient; local EMT Crew and Sheriff responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

12:58 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

4:31 p.m. Female reported a phone scam using the PCSO’s phone number (406-654-2350) stating the individual had a warrant; Sheriff handled the call.

5:15 p.m. Female reported water gushing out of the pool house; information passed onto City employee.

9:01 p.m. BNSF Police reported a crossing arm malfunction at the Larb Creek Rd crossing and a maintainer was enroute to repair it.

10:39 p.m. Female reported a juvenile being harassed by an adult male; caller did not want to press charges or anything, just wanted it reported; Deputy handled the call.

October 28, 2020

12:04 a.m. Female reported hearing possible gunshots in the Wagner area; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be quiet in the reported area.

9:30 a.m. Male reported one of his livestock had been shot south of Dodson; Undersheriff responded to the call; case file started.

10:10 a.m. Malta High School employee requested PCSO assistance at the school for a possible situation; Deputy handled the call.

2:25 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

2:34 p.m. Hi Line Retirement Center requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a resident and some plumbers; Deputy handled the call.

6:24 p.m. Male reported a deer had been hit by a vehicle on Frontage Road and was still alive; Deputy responded to the call and humanely euthanized the deer.

7:25 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for the caller who had a dislocated hip at a Landusky residence; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

7:37 p.m. Female reported a missing dog.

8:09 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female who was “out of it” in the downtown area; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient was not transported to the PC Hospital.

9:50 p.m. Male reported a deer on Hwy 191 south of Malta that may cause an accident; Deputy responded to the call; deer located and removed from the Hwy.

October 29, 20201:02 a.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

8:55 a.m. Female reported a door left open on a residence on the caller’s street; Deputy responded to the call; caller advised the house was empty and the owner was aware of the door not staying closed.

4:43 p.m. 911 received reporting a vehicle driving erratic on Hwy 2, westbound, from Saco; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle located and driving was fine.

5:05 p.m. Deputy removed debris from Hwy 2, west of Malta.

8:47 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a possible stroke; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

10:36 p.m. Male reported an injured deer on Hwy 2, east of Malta; Deputy responded to the call and humanely euthanized the deer.

11:10 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

October 30, 2020

1:49 a.m. Ft Belknap LE requested PCSO assistance with locating an overdue motorist possibly in the Ester Lake area; Deputy responded to the call; individual not located in the reported area; Ft Belknap later reported the individuals had returned home.

3:12 p.m. Male requested a welfare check on another male in Malta; Deputy responded to the call; second male located and was okay.

4:51 p.m. Male reported another male trespassing on his property; caller was concerned for the male’s mental well-being; Deputy handled the call.

5:45 p.m. Female reported a dog running loose in a residential area; caller advised it has been loose for about three days; ACO handled the call.

9:10 p.m. Deputy requested an ambulance for a male with a diabetic reaction; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient not transported to the PC Hospital.

9:30 p.m. Sheriff transported one adult male, Joey Hughes, to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on two Williams Co SO ND warrants; case file started.
