One Nation, Under God
10-28. Sympathy to David Lightfoot and family on the loss of his sister who resided at the Hi-Line Retirement Center. David lived at the Whitewater Youth ranch and now he is driving the Whitewater Stagecoach from here to Malta. His number is 647-5446 if you need a ride.
Last Friday I met my daughter Gale at the Sleeping Buffalo and we sat in the hot tub. We then went to Malta to shop before heading home. It was a nice day.
It is weaning and shipping time in Whitewater and most of the county. Huge trucks with or without cattle go by all the time. Enormous loads of hay also are moved. There is plenty of hay this year and that is a good thing..
The Whitewater area has had its share of hunters. They hunt antelope, deer, ducks, geese, and pheasants. I would rather all of the above were alive and well. I am no hunter.
Well, Merry Christmas! Haha! It rained and snowed yesterday but it is melting today and is warm out. Our weather is so wacky! My sister Janet said they have lots of snow in Billings.
I got a new storm door. It should help me stay warm.
Here is some Whitewater newcomer information for anyone attempting to move to the area. The town is located about 40 miles from the Canadian border – which is currently shuttered – and has cheap rent, sometimes as low as $175 per month. There are two vacant houses here right now. Whitewater has the North 40 Café, a post office, two churches, and a really good school. The neighbors are friendly and help each other. It is peaceful, none of the violence or chaos of big cities. Whitewater is my hometown and it could be yours too.
Stay warm.
11-4. By the time you read this, Election Day will have come and gone and I will be glad when it is over as I am so tired of all the negative political ads. I voted by mail and I hope everyone who can also voted.
2020 has been so hard on all of us because of the COVID-19 virus. It has effected all of our lives in one way or another. Let’s hope and pray that the virus is conquered.
Also, 2020 has had so many other problems including violence, hurricanes, and fires. Again, let us hope and pray things get better in 2021.
Back home in Whitewater, life is simpler than in cities. Our local ranchers are busy shipping cattle and there are many hunters in the area.
Whitewater School is in session and they are taking precautions against the COVID-19 virus. Flu shots were given at the school recently also.
A late congratulations to the North Country Mavericks Volleyball Team and also the cross county runners from Whitewater. Good luck this week to all teams still playing.
A congratulations also goes to the Whitewater Schools Music Department for the wonderful concert held at the school and led by Tricia LaBrie. I attended the concert, and it was very good.
I also attended to Malta High School Band and Choir Concert and it was really good also. That concert was under the direction of Mr. Engebretson.
Jan Siewing was in band. He is one of the Siewing twins. Seth is the older of the two. Before the concert I went to dinner at the Siewing home to help Leona celebrate her birthday. A late happy birthday to her and all October birthdays.
Well, the snow has melted and it was almost 70 above zero a few days last week. Enjoy it.
