One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for January 13, 2021

For January 6

We are approaching January 1, 2021, a brand new year! Let’s hope and pray the virus ends, and 2021 will be better. Happy New Year to all!

Again, Sympathy to all who have lost loved ones. Also, “Get Well” to all who are sick.

Here in Whitewater we have celebrated Christmas early. The Whitewater School had a wonderful Christmas concert program. Santa left candy, but could not stay, due to the virus.

Tuesday was the last day of school before vacation. The school had lunch, and a party at North 40 Café, then a “sleigh ride” followed. Actually, it was hayrack pulled by a tractor, due to the lack of snow for a sleigh. The children had a great tie in spite of cold wind and weather. They sang Christmas songs as they rode.

There was a meeting of two planets which formed a huge star, now they call it the “Bethlehem Star!” Awesome star for 202.

Let’s all enjoy a safe, happy Holiday Season, remember the words for the New Year’s Eve Song: “Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot in days of auld lang syne.”

Note: What does the word “Auld” mean? Is it another word for old? Anyway, again, Happy New Year!

As Always, Helen

For December 30

It’s a brand new Year- January 2021! “Happy New Year to All!” Let’s hope and pray the virus ends soon.

Sympathy to all who lost people this year. “Get well” to Janet Brown (my sister) in the hospital in Billings, and also to all who are sick.

“Happy Birthdays” in January, including Patti Young. Congratulations to Beau Simonson on his accomplishments in sports. Congratulations to all who won prizes in KMMR radio auction (including me). I won three gift certificates!

Late “Happy Birthday” to Sommer Green, whose birthday was Christmas Eve! She celebrated at Jeanie Green’s. We had delicious lunch and cake & pie.

Christmas Day, I went to my extended family, the Siewings. We had a delicious dinner and then watched a video. It was a very nice day. Patti and Steve Young went to her son, Tanner Anderson’s.

“Hello,” to Henry Reichelt, who was “Home for the Christmas!”

Christmas Eve, Whitewater Lutheran Church had a beautiful candlelight Church Service. Ten Sunday, Rick Mikkelson preached at Whitewater Lutheran, it was very nice.

“Thanks” to all who gave me gifts. I appreciate them all.

Note: Beware of “scams.” They are all run by “computers.” Somehow I am getting the blame and bills for some scams. I do not have anything to with any of them.

News Update: Janet Brown (sis) is much better and out of the hospital.

Just for fun: Try eating Jello with a fork!

Helen A.
