One Nation, Under God

Loring News for January 20, 2021

Carol Lumsden and I went to Havre on Friday to pick up my new glasses which are bifocals. I’m so happy that I can see to read without enlarging all the writing! But I can’t watch TV while I sit in my lounge chair. I’ll get practiced up!

We saw 4 bald eagles cleaning up a roadkill close to the overpass on highway 2. I think they are so majestic! I also saw a snowy owl twice this week! They are so white!

On Wednesday we had a wind that was like no other and we don’t even live in Kansas! The power went out for a few hours and even in the wind the heroes on the Big Flat team were out getting it back on! Thank you so much!

Buster got a hair cut on Monday! He looks lots better!

On Tuesday I had arranged for two tours at the GPDM. Miss Bell brought her science classes of seventh graders over! We had a great time! Lu Besel, Anne Boothe and Tammy Peterson helped out!

Before the wind started up on Wednesday, I went to Whitewater for senior lunch. I’m so thankful that I had no serious damage! The church in Loring suffered a few pieces of siding ripped off! But I haven’t heard of anything else being hurt.

The North Country Mavericks played at Whitewater on Friday! It was senior night honoring the seniors who participate in basketball. Kia Wasson, Beau Simonson, and Kelsee Cummings and their families were presented roses.

Carol Lumsden is hosting Loring Woman’s Club on Wednesday at 7.

The Annual meeting of the Loring Lutheran church is on February 7 after the service and pot luck brunch! Everyone is welcome.

The crescent moon is sliding toward the horizon as I get ready for sleep! It is so beautiful shining through the pine trees!

Until next week, be kind!
