One Nation, Under God

Loring News for January 27, 2021

The moon will be full on January 28! It is called the Wolf Moon. I just love the fact that no matter where you are on Earth, you all look at the same moon if it's not overcast! I was talking to a guy on a helpdesk and during the downtime, while waiting for the computer to load he asked me what I was doing in Montana. I told him I was watching the moon and Mars. He said, “Oh I don't think we have that here!” That was a good chuckle! Have you noticed that the daylight is longer?

Monday, Dixie Stordahl hosted a soup luncheon for Lu Besel, Cindy Clark and Tina Russell. The celebration was because Tina finished up a four month long trial deposition which was very challenging!

Monday night, Lu Besel and Dixie Stordahl attended a meeting of the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum.

Wednesday, Carol Lumsden hosted Loring Womans Club. The dinner was discussed and we decided to try for Valentine’s Day. Dixie will check out the possibility with Mackey’s Farm to Table.

Congratulations to the North Country Mavericks, both boys and girls, on their season of basketball so far! With Covid-19, scheduling the games is a challenge! I think this last weekend the participating opponents changed four times! But the Athletic Directors were persistent and found some worthy opponents!

Janice Erfle had some wind damage to her mobile home skirting in Billings. Brenda Clark went down this weekend to help her mother. Brenda got the correct material at a building store, cleaned up the damaged area, and fixed it up just like new! I'm not sure if her schedule allows for any other repairs or makeovers, but she does have experience.

Cindy and David Clark traveled to Great Falls for the weekend to visit Becca and Robert Engum. While there, they attended an art show called “Forever Glacier” at the Russell Museum!

We are done with one-twelfth of 2021 already! Happy February! Ash Wednesday, Valentine's Day, President’s Day, GroundHog’s Day, and Chance Love’s birthday!

Paula Morrison and grandsons Kage and Kyson visited with Dixie Stordahl on Sunday and we played Candyland for a rousing game!

Also a lesson learned this week, read the directions thoroughly BEFORE stirring up or microwaving your treat!

Until next week, be kind and pay it forward if possible!
