One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for February 17, 2021

If we thought we were bad off with the Covid 19 and subsequent isolation, who would have dreamed we would experience 30 to 40 degrees below and up to 50 degrees and beyond below wind chill in the middle of February? And it to stay for so long. First, it seemed to be centered in Montana but now is covering most of our United States. Here, we have already had a good week of below zero---the worst and lowest temperatures this last weekend----Valentine's Day included. Hopefully the worst cold is over and they are telling us we can look for at least somewhat warmer temperatures. Records are being broken all over every day---from way back in the 30s.

We need to thank all the care givers in the county---and County Health Nurse Jenny Tollefson, co-ordinator Dixie Moore, Janice Riecheldt and her staff at Home Health, for all their extra care, giving shots and all they do, and our County Commissioners, who have also been ill, for their work to keep it all together. Also all those who lend a hand to look out for elder neighbors etc., and never get noticed or get enough thanks. This is certainly a time for sharing and caring.

There was a COA meeting on Wednesday and several of us "seniors" got our second Covid shot.

There is a wonderful series of "The Pacific" on the History Channel on Saturday evenings depicting the battles for all those isles from the Japanese. We certainly do not want another war like this to happen. Again, thanks to our armed forces----and all who served----past and present.

Happy Birthday to Jerry Lankford and all others celebrating a birthday or an anniversary. Cheers to a good one.

By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong.

Have a good week, stay careful in the cold and try to stay warm.
