One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for March 3, 2021

Sympathy to Texas residents whose homes were destroyed. Most have been without electricity, water or plumbing, Here in Whitewater, my sewer and bathroom froze up! Some other folks had the same problem. Pat Dunbar has a machine to thaw frozen ground for me. Thanks to Pat!

Congratulations to Rory Green for winning the spelling bees. Good work Rory! Also, congratulations to our Whitewater “North Country” Mavericks for winning games! Good games to all athletes. Good luck at state tourneys! Many fans from Whitewater went to games in Malta. I listened to some on KMMR radio also.

Happy Birthday to all birthdays in February, including my granddaughter, Rhonda, in Medicine Hat, Canada. Here, Canadian borders are still closed to traffic due to the C-19 virus. Let’s hope it all ends.

Whitewater area ranchers are preparing for calving weather. Its warm, above zero, but the wind is really strong though. Last year, it was 20 or 30 below for weeks! That was terrible weather for calving. This year is so much warmer, with no snow. Some ranchers including the Olson’s have baby calves already. Cindy Clark and a group of girls made delicious cookies to give away to folks, including me. Thanks to them.

Reminder: Whitewater Lutheran Church has Lenten Service on Wednesday until Easter. Soup Supper begins at 5:30 with evening service at 6 p.m.

Have a good week everyone.
