Notice of Application for a Montana Air Quality Permit (MAQP), pursuant to Sections 75-2-211 and 75-2-215, MCA, and the Air Quality Rules). Within 40 days of the receipt of a completed application, the Department will make a preliminary determination whether the permit should be issued, issued with conditions, or denied. Any member of the public with questions or who wishes to receive notice of the preliminary determination, and the location where a copy of the application and the Department’s analysis of it can be reviewed, or to submit comments on the preliminary determination, must contact the Department at Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Bureau, Permitting Services Section Supervisor at P.O. Any comments on the preliminary determination must be submitted to the Department within the specified timeframe (within15 or 30 days after the preliminary determination is issued).

PUBLIC NOTICE

Phillips County, PO Box 360, Malta MT 59538, 406-654-2429, applied to DEQ Opencut Mining Section (OMS) for a 38.3-acre gravel mine permit for the Carnahan Site in Sections 30 & 31, T26N, R34E, Phillips County. Access is from Larb Creek Road. Operator will strip soil material for reclamation, excavate about 700,000 cy of gravel, process it with a screen and crusher, and reclaim disturbed area to grassland and pond. Site use will be intermittent. Date by which the reclaimed site will be ready for release is 12/2070. Application is posted at https://appecm.mt.gov/PerceptiveDEQOpencutSearch/.
