One Nation, Under God

Loring News for March 10, 2021

Welcome to the beginning of spring! The Canadian geese are flying in and making lots of noise. A gopher was standing on the road and I hear the birds cheeping their little cheeps! The snow is completely gone but the ground is very dry!

Congratulations to the basketball teams who had successful divisional tournaments this past weekend. The North Country Lady Mavericks earned the title of Champions and so did the Malta M-ettes! The North Country boys got 4th, but their tournament was very good. Get well wishes to Beau Simonson who rolled an ankle on Friday and had limited time on Saturday. The Mustangs had a great season as well!

Thursday, Lily Taylor was a guest of Dixie Stordahl's for dinner. It’s always fun for an old woman to make connections with the younger people!

The weatherman says snow, but it looks like puffy clouds and blue sky. We’ll welcome whatever is sent our way!

Loring Lutheran church will meet next Sunday, March 14, and the last Sunday of March the 28th, for Palm Sunday. This year is flying by! Bible study will be at Carol Lumsden’s on Wednesday. Loring Women’s Club will be on the 17th at the home of Dixie Stordahl. Wear green!

The new moon will make its crescent appearance this week. If you have a chance, Mars is very close to Pleiades during this time. The Pleiades is a cluster of stars that look like a mini dipper with binoculars. I think they are visible straight up.

Be kind. Thanks for reading my column!
