One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for March 10, 2021

It’s March, Happy Birthday to all March birthdays! Also, to all those celebrating Anniversaries. Again, congratulations to the Mavericks and all teams in various tournaments. Have fun! People really travel for their favorite games. Local Whitewater fans went to the Maverick games. Janice R. also visited Janet Brown (her aunt) and my sister in Billings.

Again congratulations to Rory Green for winning the spelling bees. Good work! Sunday, I went to a family birthday party for twins, Seth and Jon Siewing. Very nice! Happy birthday to them! Jeff and Julie (Austin) Cole were in Whitewater last weekend. They are interested in local “early years history” and businesses. They examined the old shoemaker’s repair shop. It is located behind my house. It was an important shoe repair business in the 1940s and early ’50s. In those days people did not have cars or money to go to town to shop like people do now. We shopped out of catalogs some in the early years.

Here’s a report from Whitewater Weather Bureau, snow is all gone and it’s 40 above. It is early spring (except for the wind). Most ranchers are calving and it is perfect weather for calving. It is perfect weather for the babies to be born. Last year, in 2020, we had two feet of snow and temperatures of 25 to 30 below zero! Weather in 2021 is great so far. The geese are back! They fly in a “V” shape, usually, they stop in fields to eat and rest. Isn’t nature fantastic; to tell geese when it’s time to come fly north and to fly to their homes on Whitewater Creek. Wow, enjoy spring.
