The Soup is On at the Senior Center!

Saturday, March 20th will be an exciting day in Malta at the Senior Citizen Center. After a years hiatis of not having social or fund raising events, the calendar has been chalked up and the SOUP IS ON! Come on over to the Center and prepare to bring your appetite, and your friends as well, and partake in the best social event of the day that the Center is hosting.

This year, with the uncertainty of being able to host the usual corned beef and cabbage, the cooks and Senior Citizen group has opted for a variation from the menu and will be serving up tempting kettles, pots and roasters of some of the most delicious homemade soups to be found. Already on the menu are an infamous recipe of chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles, and ye might just find beef stroganoff soup, hamburger and macaroni soup, taco soup and gnocchi...depending on the mood of the cook that day! And since you asked, yes...our lovely Lady Lephrechaun with the Midas Touch has been busier than the Keebler Elf or Betty Crocker creating her wonderful array of desserts.

The WELCOME mat has been swept off and the windows are cleaned so if you’re thinking of getting your fill of the temptations without getting calories and plan to merely look through the windows, we’ll be able to see you so you may as well come on in and sit a spell. The coffee is on and the friendly bunch and two crabby people will be ready to serve you.

The pot at the end of the rainbow is filled with soups and the St. Paddy’s day celebration will start serving at 11:30 a.m. (approximately) til 1 p.m. If you are hesitant about co-mingling with the smiling faces that will gather, call the Center at 654-1392 and curbside delivery can be arranged.
