One Nation, Under God

Update on the status of the Milk River Gospel Jamboree

March 11, 2021

Dear Editor,

Two weeks ago, we had our second Milk River Gospel Jamboree meeting for this year. The main topic of discussion was the jamboree, that until 2020, we have held every year since 2001.

Last year, the plague of 2020 hit! We had 5 groups scheduled from Canada and 3 from United States, including Tim Lovelace. We looked forward to great gospel music, performances that blessed, and some that could cause belly splitting laughter, all family friendly and most with a gospel message for all. But it was not to be. The issues related to the virus just looked too formidable to us! We canceled the 19th Annual Milk River Gospel Jamboree.

Now this year. We found only a few groups willing to travel and when we added in the uncertainties, requirements and risks of staging a jamboree in the present virus climate, sadly, we voted no again on our "annual" jamboree!

On a positive note, a radio personality in the past used to say, "Wash your ears out with this!”

If God wills, there will be a mini jamboree of gospel music, fellowship, fun, singing, renewing old acquaintances, and worship sometime this fall. Maybe October? Probably mostly local gospel musicians. We are hoping one of the groups will be a professional gospel group from out of state.

Won't you please join us every Friday as we pray for the success of the next Milk River Gospel Jamboree event?

Trusting in God's Amazing Grace,

John Koss

Chairman Milk River Gospel Jamboree
