Barbara Louise Richard

Barbara Louise Richard, 79, of Andover, Kansas died Friday, November 8th, 2020, of natural causes. Barbara was the daughter of Edward and Lona Fiske who ranched in southern Montana and went to a small country school near Vida, MT thru the 6th grade and graduated from Circle High School in MT. Barbara was raised on an isolated ranch by an abusive father and abused mother and later on wrote and had published several books about the experience She then went on to graduate from Hollywood Beauty School located in Billings, MT and became a talented hairdresser and opened and operated a shop in Malta, Mt. Barbara also worked as block grant representative and public servant for a brief period of time.

Barbara married Ray Jansen of Wolf Point and they had 3 children, together: Randall, Tamara, and Martin. Upon divorcing Raymond she moved to Washington state for a short stay and then on to Malta, MT where she met Charles Welch and they had 2 children together, Barry and Chuck. When Charles and Barbara were divorced she met Jim Richard and they were married and lived and thrived in White Sulphur Springs until Jim's passing in Feb. Of 2018. Barbara then moved to Andover to be closer to her youngest son and daughter-in-law, at the time, Chuck and Robin, and 3 grandchildren.

Barbara was extremely proud of all her children's accomplishments and always made of point of attending and or cheering on at any event notoriety. Barbara was willing to accept any challenge that life put before her and did it with a grit and determination that was second to none. Barbara enjoyed all outdoor Montana activities, camping, fishing, and sitting quietly at the White Sulphur golf course reading in the golf cart while her husband Jim, would play a round of golf and then going to their favorite place by the Smith River and enjoying a peaceful summer evening and sharing a small picnic.

In addition to her4 remaining children numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, she is also survived by her; Kathleen of Yuma, AZ., Frances of Seattle, WA., Norma of Modesto, CA, and Patricia of Riverton, WY. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Barry, and her most recent husband, Jim.

Barbara was an amazing, accomplished woman and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
