Coyotes Track 2021

Dodson welcomes a new team in 2021

The Dodson Coyotes Track Team features several athletes that have track experience, just not at the high school level.

The PCN caught up with Dodson Track Coach Tianna Bloomer who spoke about each athlete.

Coach Bloomer’s notes:

This year, I have Sebastian Best who is going to do 300 hurdles, Triple jump, long jump, and javelin. He is a freshman.

We also have Imagin Fox, who is a freshman. She will be running the 100 hurdles, the 100, the 200, the discus, and she’ll be doing the long jump.

Kataya Killeagle is a freshman. She will be doing the triple jump, long jump, and discus. We are trying to convince her to do the 400.

Michael Turnsplenty is a freshman he will be competing in the 1600, the long jump, and the triple jump. We are also convincing him to run in the 800.

Emma Cole is a sophomore. She’ll be doing all-terrain events. She’ll be doing the discus, the shot put, and the javelin. This is her first time ever doing any throwing.

We basically have a brand new varsity team. They all competed in junior high track. But, we didn’t have a track season last year. And any of my returning did not return.

Though the Coyotes do not have experience in high school track, many of the students have experience competing in other sports including basketball and Cross Country. This includes Cole, who is a two-time competitor in state cross country, and KillEagle and Fox who competed as starting guards for the Lady Coyotes Basketball team in the past two seasons.
