Malta Golf Teams Hit the Links in Roundup

The Malta High School golfers took to the course in Roundup on Wednesday, May 5, for their second to last meet of the regular season.

The boys' team finished tied for sixth out of the nine teams scoring. They were led by Kaden Bishop who shot an 89, tying him for seventh place overall. He was followed by Connor Clausen with a 96, Hunter Stolem with a 105, Ashton Weston with a 108, and Jon Siewing with a 110.

The overall team scores are as follows; Columbus 346, Red Lodge 361, Forsyth 363, Huntley 365, Roundup 384, Malta 398, Colstrip 398, Shepherd 403, and Lodge Grass 507.

The Malta girls didn't have enough players to get a team score, but those that were there did well.

They were led by Kennedy Koss and Sydney Gibbs, both shooting a score of 114 which tied them for 13th overall. Those two were followed by Lavida Dalby, who shot a 123, good for 26th overall.

The teams had a meet in Cut Bank on Friday, May 7. Their meet in Chinook on Saturday, May 8, was canceled. The teams played in Shelby on Tuesday, May 11, for Divisionals. Results for these meets will be in next weeks' paper.

The final meet for the players/teams that qualify will be the Class B State Meet in Shepherd on May 18-19.
