PCMS Kicks off the 2021 Points Season

PCMS got things rolling at the Hi-Line Dragstrip on Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6. With test and tune on Saturday after the car show, and Sunday the first points race of the season.

They ran three classes of cars on Sunday, Sportsman, Box Super Pro, and No Box Pro. There were no Junior Dragsters there this week.

PCMS President Dan Stout said, "I'm really happy with how things have turned out this weekend. I wish Canada would open up the border, but we still had 53 cars here. The track is in great condition and although it's windy, the weather is pretty good for racing."

Track announcer Jody Lee added, "We've got a pretty decent crowd out here watching the races this week as well."

In the Sportsman Division, Alicia Cork from Shelby won the trophy with a dial-in of 9.11, reaction time of .1202, elapsed time of 9.32 seconds and a top speed of 75.76 mph. Runner-up for the sportsman was Kyle Stahl from Glasgow with a dial-in of 10.99, reaction time of -.0231, elapsed time of 11.0554 seconds, and a top speed of 62.11 mph.

In the No Box Pro Division, Jake Hentges from Glasgow took top honors with a dial-in of 7.87, reaction time of .0836, elapsed time of 7.9395, and a top speed of 83.50 mph. Second place went to Kenneth West from Havre with a dial in of 6.58, reaction time of -.0376, elapsed time of 6.5767, and a top speed of 102.37.

In the Box Super Pro Division, Jesse Dobson from Scobey took top honors. In the final, he had a dial-in of 5.32, reaction time of .0069, elapsed time of 5.3263, and a top speed of 129.61 mph. Runner-up in Super Pro was John Enno from Williston, ND. He had a dial in of 6.17, a reaction time of -.0024, elapsed time of 6.1674, and a top speed of 111.6 mph.

After his win in Super Pro, Jesse Dobson climbed out of his car and said, "Finally!! We finally did it!!"

He added that, "We have been close so many times, but just could never close the deal."

After Dobson received his trophy, he said to PCMS President Stout, "Now you're going to make me a liar to my son. I told him that if I won, he could have the trophy because I have a bunch of them, but this is a different looking trophy. I don't have one of these."

The next races in Malta will be on June 26-27.
