One Nation, Under God

Phillips County Museum News for Wednesday, June 16, 2021

Despite having to detour guests temporarily as our new front door was being installed, we saw plenty of happy folks through the museum this week. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped with this project, it looks fantastic.

It has been heartening to see a return to educational adventures around Montana and to stamp so many nearly filled Dinosaur Trail passports. Apart from the rich natural history, many exhibits in the museum document the stories of those who endured uncertainties, overcame fears and made do. A new display this year of excerpts from handwritten letters from a schoolteacher who braved the plains in 1920 does just that. Vignettes like these are illuminated through everyday objects, photographs, and handwritten accounts which inspire strength and solidarity for us as viewers today.

The museum is open Monday through Saturday, 10-5.
