One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, June 16, 2021

“Get well wishes” to Bobby Anderson of Whitewater and all who are sick, including David Lightfoot.

Happy Birthday to all June birthdays.

Sympathy to the families of the gophers who have been shot in Whitewater, Loring, and other areas. I think gophers are cute and how do they harm the earth? Why not let coyotes get them. Then the coyotes would not kill sheep or other animals. I do not understand how anyone can think it is a sport to shoot and kill any animal. There are people in Whitewater area that shoot gophers. There is a couple from Wisconsin, camped near Whitewater, who came here especially to kill gophers. (Maybe Wisconsin does not raise gophers).

Welcome to all newcomers including the construction crew working at Simonson’s farm. The workers live in trailers in Whitewater. It is good we have hook-ups here.

Last weekend I attended the car show in Malta. It was well attended, although there were not as many cars. The Canandian cars could not come across, due to the COVID restrictions.

Many, including myself, enjoyed a Kiwanis burger. Some people I visited were Jan and Greg Kirkwood, Janice R, Kathy Black, and Joy Austin Donovan of Kremlin Montana. She came to watch Dennis Donovan rope in the mini rodeo in Malta.

Pat Murdock called to say her grandchildren (Kathleen family), visited from Kadoka, S.D. Cally, Kathleen’s daughter’s last name is Uhlir. Pat really enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren.

Dallas Green and family went to Billings for appointments.

Late Happy Anniversary to Allie and Sue Olson and Diane and Don Simanton. They had a party in Malta. Happy Anniversary to all those celebrating.

June 8th in Whitewater, we had terrible winds, with thunder and lightning, followed by a downpour of RAIN; Wonderful!!

Have a good week!

Helen A.
