City to Purchase the Old National Guard Armory

During the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 22, the Malta City Council gave the go-ahead to put in motion the acquisition of the old National Guard Armory with a unanimous vote.

Mayor Demarais told the council that there is ARPA money, or "Covid money" that will be available to the city for the purchase of buildings that can become the new city emergency building if and when it would be needed.

Demarais said, "I think this building would be a win/win for the city."
