Camper Fire Closes Highway

Firefighters from the Malta Volunteer Fire Department work to extinguish a camper fire on Hwy. 2, west of the Malta Airport, at noon last Saturday. The fire closed traffic in both directions for approximately an hour. One incident truck and a tanker, along with six firefighters responded in addition to a Sheriff’s deputy and a Montana Highway Patrol trooper. The blaze was out by 12:45 p.m. Further details of the incident were unavailable at press time.
