First Annual Independence Bank/Phillips County Insurance Customer Appreciation Classic

On June 26, Independence Bank and Phillips County Insurance held their first Customer Appreciation Classic at the Marion Hills Golf Course.

Ashley Stuart from Independence Bank said, "We had a great turnout. A full field of 72 golfers for the shotgun starts in the morning."

The winning team of four consisted of; Kris LaBrie, Gordon Webb, Frank Wiederrick, and Amy Simonson.

There was a tie for second place between the teams of Bryan Shores, Jesse Simonson, Leroy Simonson, Karey Bishop and the team of Tony Kindle, Tanner Kelly, Justin Lamb, and Nellie Ereaux.

It was a very warm day and a bit breezy, but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time.

While on a break at the clubhouse getting more refreshments, tourney contestant Justin Paul was asked how things were going, "We're doing ok. I have no idea how the other teams are doing, but we're having a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure the shot I just did won't help the golf game, but we're having fun anyway."

Fellow contestant Jamie Ulrich echoed Justin's statement, "I'm pretty sure we aren't winning, but we aren't losing either. The wind could die down a bit for me, but we know that's not going to happen. We are having a lot of fun and that's all that matters."

Along with the winning teams, the tournament also had prizes for each hole. Those winners are as follows:

Hole #1-Long Putt: Bryan Shores, hole #2-Long Drive, Men: Dean Yeadon, hole #3-Closest to the Pin (3rd shot): Tanner Kelly, hole #4-Closest to the Pin: Gordon Webb, hole #5-Long Drive, Women: Devin Simser, hole #6-Long Putt: Nancy Salsbery, hole #7-Closest to the Pin: Jason Snellman, hole #8-Closest to Pin (2nd shot): Gordon Webb, hole #9-Long Putt: Mary Oxarart, hole #10-Closest to Pin (2nd shot): Frank Wiederrick, hole #11-Closest to Pin (3rd shot): Jim Heikens, hole #12-Long Putt: Jason Snellman, hole #13-Closest to Pin: Jerry Lytle, hole #14-Long Drive, Men: Jason Miller, hole #15-Closest to Pin (3rd shot): John Sautter, hole #16-Short Drive: Barbie Gray, hole #17-Long Drive, Women: Bri Shores, hole #18-Long Putt: Shon Simonson.

Once done golfing, the contestants gathered in the Tin Cup Bar and Grill for a dinner and award show.

Stuart added, "We had a lot of fun working with Phillips County Insurance on this. We are already planning next year's event! The 2nd Annual!"
