One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, August 11, 2021

It is August! Happy Birthday to all who have birthdays this month. Birthdays include my son Mitchell Moore, Sally Austin, Challise (Young) Hoff, my granddaughter, and Allie Olson. Also, Happy Anniversary to all who celebrate this month. Special Happy Birthday to Fred Allery of Whitewater, 90 years old! Fred has lived on the farm here in Whitewater most of his life. He also drove the school bus.

Fred and Cliff Johnson (of Malta) are World War II survivors. Probably only ones in the county.

Patti and Steve Young went to Havre last Monday and are back now.

Sympathies to all victims of the fires. Even in Whitewater we smell smoke, it’s bad.

Pat Murdock said Kathleen (Pat’s girl) from South Dakota visited them for a few days. Bill Murdock got to visit with them also.

Kathleen is a horsewoman/barrel racer. Awesome!

North 40 Café had a surprise party for Allie Olson on Friday, July 30. It was very nice.

Ashely Green and the children went to Spearfish, South Dakota to visit her parents.

Jeanie Green worked at the Post Office for her.

We also heard a rumor that Kenny Clark had purchased the old Farmers Union building in Whitewater, to make it a garage and tire shop. Good luck Ken!

Well, this column is written before the fair. I will give a report on the fair next week.

I am looking forward to going to the fair, as I always have, especially the concert. I plan to eat my way across the fairgrounds.

Long ago, (believe it or not) it rained, no poured rain, all weekend, so they (postponed) the fair. Maybe no one would mind if that happened again.

We could sure use rain after a summer drought of 2021.

Stay cool!
