One Nation, Under God

Donna Lefdahl Brandon

Donna (Lefdahl) Brandon passed away peacefully at age 93. She was born and raised in Malta, MT on the family farm south of town, to Iver and Mabel Lefdahl. Donna was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Malta High School in 1945 and in 1948, she married Willard Brandon. Together, they had four children, Allen, Robert, Bill, and Judy. Donna moved to Great Falls in 1995, however Malta was always home in her heart.

Donna took great pride in living and serving in the Malta community. She was one of the last telephone operators before Malta went dial. She also worked at JCPenney's, Farmers Home Administration, First Security Bank, and the Malta Senior Center. Donna was an active member in her churches, Scandia Lutheran as a child, and Malta Lutheran as an adult.

If you ever had the pleasure of spending time with Donna, you know that she was a loving, caring, and considerate woman who LOVED to bake! She was known for always having baked goods on hand and hot coffee brewed, just in case she had the pleasure of entertaining an unexpected guest, and we know she loved to visit with company! If you were lucky, she may still have had some lefse in the freezer. She also loved to play pinochle, do puzzles, and sew. Many have been fortunate enough to receive one of her famous jean quilts! We cannot leave out how much of a sports fan she was. Football, basketball, baseball – it didn't matter. If there was a game on TV, you knew where to find her.

Donna had friends and family from the United States to Norway that she held near and dear to her heart. She corresponded regularly and the highlight of her day was checking her mailbox to see how many letters she had received. Not a single letter went without a response back. Donna will be missed by many, and she will never be forgotten. Her legacy will carry on in the many things she has passed on to her loved ones.

Donna is survived by her sons, Robert (Kim) Brandon and Bill (Debbie) Brandon; daughter, Judy (Don) Woods; grandchildren, Janel Brandon, Cheri Brandon, Jennifer (Brett) Patrick, and Jeff Brandon; and four step-grandchildren and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Lorenzo and Lloyd Lefdahl; sister, Helen (Lefdahl) Whaley; and son, Allen Brandon.

The family is planning a graveside service for Friday, August 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Malta Cemetery. There will be fellowship held at the Malta Lutheran Church immediately following the service. Condolences for the family may be shared online at http://www.OConnorFuneralHome.com.
