Elizabeth (Kienenberger) Opland

Elizabeth (Kienenberger) Opland 89 years 11 months and 21 days entered Heaven on August 26, 2021. Memorials may be sent to the Community Church of Malta in her memory.

She was born to Walter "Ding" & Fredella "Ruth" (Shaw) Kienenberger on September 5th, 1931, at the family ranch north of Dodson. Survivors include her daughter Kathy (Paul) Eslicks of Big Fork, MT, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and sister Virginia Eskildsen of Malta. She is also survived by brothers Dean, Bruce, Ted, and sister Sherry Baker.

Elizabeth attended Long View County School through the 8th grade and then attended high school in Dodson. She left home in 1950 for work at a restaurant in Havre. In 1951 she married Benny Opland in Helena, MT. They spent many of the next years traveling across the country while Benny worked for CBI. They later made their home in Elma Washington on a few small acres where she raised rabbits and a few calves. She was a licensed beautician where she, cut and fixed hair for many years. After Benny passed away, she returned to her roots and moved back to Malta to be closer to her family

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Ruth, husband Benny, sister Dorothy Lumsden, brothers Bud, Hoot, Charles, and Doug Kienenberger

The Funeral service for Elizabeth was held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Malta Community Church at 10:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Homes of Malta.
