One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, September 15, 2021

Sympathies to the victims of the hurricane down south.

Happy Birthday to all September birthdays, including Rory Green and Irene Wendalyn of Chinook.

There was a volleyball game at the WHS gym on Friday. Irene and I went to see the games and players including Sommer Green (my niece).

Before the game, we went to the North 40 and had lunch.

Saturday, we went to Saco and took in the Saco Fun Days. We watched the parade, it was great. Several children from Whitewater, including Sommer and Rory, rode in the parade on the Red, White, and Blue float.

Saco’s school “Marching Band” played in the parade. The Shiners rode their little cars. Probably the highlight of the parade was the Milk River Wagon Train. There were many Conestoga wagons, a surrey, and a chariot. There were beautiful horses ridden by many outriders.

Gary and Barb Anderson owned one rig. It was driven by Tanner Anderson, his son, and the crew.

Following the parade, we had a delicious picnic that was served to the crowd.

A nice fun Labor Day!

We visited with a friend, Loretta Larsen of Hinsdale. In the afternoon Irene and I drove by Nelson Reservoir. It is so low from the drought, (sad).

However, there were campers and some boats out on the lake.

Back in Whitewater school has started again. Good luck to all students.
