Good Turn Out for Malta Chambers' Oktoberfest

The City of Malta kicked off the holiday season with its Oktoberfest celebration downtown on Thursday, October 28.

Fun was had by all at the Stockman Terrace with a soup cook-off, scarecrow decorating contest, and trivia by Blue Ridge Brewery.

In the soup competition, Hi-Line Retirement Center won first place, with Jasmine Crasco and Katie Smith coming in second.

Other soups were made by Becky and Amy Bruce, Karey Bishop, Bri Shores, and Suzanna Stenberg.

In the scarecrow decorating contest, the Hi-Line Retirement Center came away with the win again with Blue Ridge Brewing getting second.

“We had a good crowd for soups and trivia,” said Julie Snellman. “The downtown business’ were open late along with the banks for the scrip kickoff. The holiday season has officially started!”
