One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, December 8, 2021

If we get clear skies in the evenings you will be able to see Venus close to the horizon in the west, then a golden planet Saturn and even farther up in the sky a bright Jupiter! And as the week goes the moon moves along the row of planets, kind of highlighting each one for three nights. The planets will be visible for a few weeks this month!

I participated in the vendor fair on Saturday at the Phillips County Museum. I saw many friends, old and new. I enjoyed everything about it. And was able to support the Little White Church chicken and biscuit fundraiser!

It finally snowed and I was nervous about the roads, so I packed up a little early so I could get home before dark. The roads were snow packed and a little slick down on the river, but up on top, the roads were swept clean by the wind.

Gene and Zeb Compton, of Boulder, were in the area on Friday. I hadn’t seen Zeb for decades so it was fun to catch up. Zeb and my son David spent many hours together before they started school

The wind is a topic I’m getting tired of! The wind was so fierce this week that many wild fires were started over by Browning, south of Great Falls and Denton. Many homes and outbuildings were lost. An epic photo of the elevators on fire at Denton really went viral on the internet. Sympathy to the Curtis family, as Gaelen passed away this Saturday. She fought a good fight against cancer for a long time. Services will be later.

The Angel service at the Loring Lutheran church will be this upcoming Sunday. Orvin Solberg will be the guest speaker.

The high school basketball players are already building their skills and wins! Good luck this season! I hope to make it to a game or two this year!

Have a great week. Be kind and be good! Shout out to Tim in California who will get this just before Christmas!
