Barbara E. Derifield

Derifield, Barbara E., 79, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 in Wichita. Barbara was born the daughter of W.E. "Kirk" and Roberta "Bobby" Kirkwood on May 6, 1942.

Barbara graduated from West High School in the Class of 1960 in Wichita. She attended Wichita Beauty Academy and graduated in 1962.

She owned and operated K's Beauty Salon for many years with her brother Melvin. She started doing hair for funeral homes in 1973 and continued until 2003.

She was a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene in Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Carl Derifield, son; Harlen Derifield, parents; brothers; Melvin and Ivan Kirkwood. Survivors include her brother; Greg (Jan) Kirkwood, grandchildren; Emma, Gabby and Triston Derifield.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1400 E. Kellogg Dr. S., Wichita, KS 67211. Reception will follow.

Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Old Mission Cemetery, 3424 E. 21st St. N., Wichita following the reception.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
