Short-handed Lady Coyotes lose to 3C District teams

The Dodson Lady Coyotes basketball team was short-handed this week, but fought hard against three district opponents last week.

The Lady Coyotes are scheduled to face the Roy-Winifred Lady Outlaws on Friday, February 4, in Roy, at 6 p.m. They will then host the Poplar Indians on Saturday, February 5, at 6 p.m.

Dodson faced Turner on Thursday, January 28, and lost 52-44.

The Lady Coyotes jumped out to a 16-8 lead by the end of the first quarter, but ran out of steam and were outscored two of the final three quarters. Turner outscored Dodson 12-4 in the second to tie things up at halftime. Dodson put up 15 points in the third quarter while Turner added 14, but Turner would find another gear in the fourth with a 18-9 run.

Dodson was led by Kataya KillEagle, who had a game-high 23 points. Jaymiee Stiffarm and Kylee Ball each had six points. Imagin Fox had five points and Jean Jackson had four points.

The Lady Coyotes lost 56-19 to the North Country Lady Mavericks on Thursday, January 27.

Dodson was led by KillEagle who had 11 points. Fox had four points. Kylee Ball and Jazlyn KillEagle each score two points.

North Country was led by Jaycee Erickson, who had 17 points. Teagan Erickson had eight points, and Paige Wasson had seven points.

The Lady Coyotes lost their last game of the week to the Nashua Porcupines on Saturday, January 29. The score was 56-48.

The Lady Coyotes were led by Kataya KillEagle who had 28 points. KillEagle's outing included four treys in the second half of the game. Fox had eight points, Jackson had seven points, Ball had three points, and Stiffarm had two points.

Dodson was down 35-19 after the first half and fought hard to cut into the lead in the second half. They outscored Nashua 16-13 in the third quarter and 13-8 in the fourth quarter.
