One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, February 16, 2022

“Hello” to all especially Connie Wisher and family.

So here in Whitewater, basketball is in full swing, as-is all over Montana. In Whitewater, there were ball games on Tuesday with Dodson. The District Tournament will be the week of February 13-19th, at Wolf Point, Montana.

Good luck to all teams, especially our Whitewater/NC Mavericks.

Some Whitewater ranchers have begun calving. Jean Green is halfway through lambing. She has 2 sets of twins so far. The weather has been so good for newborn babies. The snow is almost gone! That is good.

Years ago, we (most ranchers) did not calve or lamb until May, this better weather making it all easier. We still had bums, both lamb and calves. I raised some babies on bottles. It was so fun, even if it was a steady job. Once we didn’t have any fresh milk, so I raised a calf on canned milk, diluted with water.

As I look through my 2022 calendar, I find special dates. Of course, New Years is gone, so is Martin Luther King Day, Ground Hogs Day too. Valentines Day is here. March 13th, daylight savings time starts. (I wish they would leave the times the same). March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, April 10 is Palm Sunday, and April 17 is Easter Sunday. Easter is late this year.

More dates later.

Note: Don’t put off until tomorrow, what you can do today.

Take Care

Helen A.
