One Nation, Under God

Lydia Gloria Moore Abrahamson

Lydia Gloria Moore Abrahamson passed peacefully on Valentine's Day at the Phillips County Hospital.

Lydia was born January 14, 1946 to Richard Oscar and Ethel (Owen) Moore. She was the 3rd child of 8 and the oldest girl. Tragedy struck her family when Lydia was 16. Losing her father in 1962, Lydia, being the oldest child, took on the responsibility of helping her mother take care of her younger siblings. She worked hard, never letting the adversities get in her way. She was tough as nails and persevered through life only knowing one speed-full steam ahead.

Lydia's oldest brother had a friend who frequented the Moore home. This friend, Warren R Abrahamson, wound up marrying Lydia on March 1, 1963. To this union, Warren O and Deborah were born.

Lydia worked at many local cafes and restaurants as a waitress in the Malta area. Never one to be idle, you rarely saw her sitting down. Her work ethic was envied by many and she never met a stranger as she had an enormous and generous heart and a gift to gab to match.

Lydia was small in stature and fought fiercely for her family whom she loved dearly. She had a deep love and faith in God and instilled this early on in her children. Lydia loved angels and she collected them and crosses. She also loved getting drawings and art work from her grandchildren. She cherished them and displayed them proudly in her home.

Lydia is survived by her husband of almost 59 years, her son Warren (Lori) Abrahamson, her daughter Deborah (Alan Porter) Copeland, grandchildren Warren, Gage, Riley and Tamela Abrahamson, Jeff (Shiela) Copeland, and great grandchildren Asjah and Jasper Copeland, her sister Dolly Cassidy of North Pole AK, Joe Moore of Butte, George Moore of Malta, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ralph, Richard, and Jeff Moore, sister Margaret Moore, infant daughter Lissa and baby boy Abrahamson, son-in-law Gene Copeland, half-sisters Marjorie L. Simmons, and Mary Rita Walker.

A graveside service will be held on February 19, 2022 at 11am at Malta Cemetery.

Wilderness Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements and services.
