One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, May 11, 2022

It’s May, hope you had a “Happy Mother’s Day.”

Sympathy to the farmers and ranchers and all who are affected by the 2022 drought. Many ranchers have had to sell cattle since there is no grass and hay for winter.

Recently I talked to a farmer from Loring, he said, “all the water holes in the area are dry.” The drought is so sad. We all need to pray for rain.

Maybe some farmers would like to try different crops. The TV and radio advertise canola oil and you farmers get paid for trying it. Also, they (tv and radio) advertise growing sunflowers. What a beautiful field of colors, yellow and browns and green.

Beware of the chicken flu. It can just destroy a flock of chickens.

Here in Whitewater, we had a busy week. The Whitewater School music concert was Thursday. The songs and the band were excellent. Samatha Wisher sang a solo, which was very beautiful. Sam also excels in track. We are sad that the Wisher family will be leaving for South Carolina. We hope they come back to visit.

Friday night, WHS had a carnival! They had a variety of games including Bingo which I played. Pizza and dessert were served. It was fun!

Note: Whitewater High School Graduation is May 13, 2022, at 7 p.m. Congratulations to Randy Stenvick who was ordained as Pastor of the Whitewater Baptist Church. Sunday, about 35 people from Havre Baptist Church and pastors from South Carolina attended the church service. A picnic lunch followed.

Yes, Whitewater had a busy week, with lots of people.

It is Spring! Have a great week!

Helen A.
