One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, June 29, 2022

This first week of summer has been great! Some warm days, some cooler days, mostly windy days, a smattering of rain. The wildlife is amazing! Baby antelope, deer, and birds, many porcupines on the highway traveling to another tree. I was driving to town on Monday when I saw something cross the road. I stopped close to where it went in the ditch and it was a badger, just sitting on a pile of dirt by a hole, looking at me. It went in the hole and came back up, back in and a skunk came out! That was pretty surprising! And thank heaven I wasn’t alone! Cindy Clark was riding with me!

On Monday I went to the museum for a while then drove around and saw Marty Bandel’s garage door was open with Mary Waters and Marty enjoying a puzzle and lemonade. I stopped to visit, put a few pieces together and Art Lundstrom biked by. Mary and Marty invited him to have lemonade. So fun, impromptu visit!

The Fort Peck Theater has put another musical together. The Bridges of Madison County was very entertaining. The Clark girls attended on Saturday when they could see two plays on the same day! Mylee was very mesmerized and has ideas that is what she wants to work toward! She loves the theater! Cindy and I went to the matinee on Sunday.

The grasshoppers have hatched and are really prevalent! Makes me sick to think about the devastation! The robins are eating them as are the flycatchers!

Have a safe week and may everyone around you be kind!
