Malta High School will soon destroy special education/speech-language therapy records of former students who have been out of school for at least five years. Former students may contact Sue Gilkerson at 406-654-2002 or their local school district within sixty days of this notice if they wish to review the files or obtain copies of the information contained in them. The information to be destroyed shall not include data collected on a routine basis that is maintained on all school children (such as the student’s name, address, telephone number, grade level completed and year completed.)

The data to be destroyed shall include information collected for identification, location, evaluation, and other items directly related to special education services which the student had received. Parents of students still in school but not in special education for at least five (5) years may also request that their children’s records be destroyed. Parents of these students also have the right to inspect the special education records and obtain copies of the information contained in those records before they are destroyed. Persons having questions about this process or those persons wishing to request that records be destroyed may contact Sue Gilkerson at (406) 654-2002 for assistance.

Notice of Meeting

The Malta School Board of Trustees will meet August 10, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Malta High/Middle School for the purpose of considering and adopting the Final Budget for Malta K-12 School District 14A. The meeting of the Trustees may be continued from day to day until the final adoption of the District’s Budget. Any taxpayer in the District may attend the meeting and be heard for or against any part of the budget. This notice is given per the requirements of MCA 20-9-115.

TOWN OF DODSON

PUBLIC HEARING TO APPLY FOR CDBG GRANT FUNDING

The Town of Dodson will hold a public hearing on August 1, 2022, at 6:30 pm at the Parish Hall – Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Dodson, MT 59538. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public comments regarding the Town’s overall community development needs (public infrastructure & facilities, economic development, and housing), including the needs of low and moderate-income persons. The Town of Dodson will also seek the views of citizens on the activities that should be undertaken to meet the identified needs and their relative priority. The Town may apply for funding from the Montana Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program (federal funding administered by the Montana Department of Commerce) and other state and federal funding sources to address housing, public facilities, or other community needs. The Town wants its residents to comment and offer suggestions for projects to address the most urgent needs. Comments may be given orally at the hearing or submitted in writing by August 1, 2022, at 5:00 pm.
