Why can't I just take the win?

I know that I am about to jinx it. I know that I should probably just take the win and be quiet about it, but I can’t help myself.

I have lived here a while now and I must say that this has been the most pleasant year for a certain pest that I won’t name.

Year after year, I have gone outside to set up my sprinklers only to be mobbed by biters. I would swat and stomp every step as I set up irrigation.

We wouldn’t have picnics outside due to these buzzing creatures, and a walk around the neighborhood or to the store was a major annoyance.
